Charitable giving occurs at a national and state level.
We have created national partnerships with organisations that share our goals regarding what we want to achieve through our CSR program. We have defined our goals by consulting our people on the causes that are most important to them. As a result our national efforts support charities with the aim of improving the life and opportunities of marginalised and underprivileged young people through education and mentoring programs.
We sponsor two principal national charities. We provide financial, pro bono and volunteering support to Good Beginnings, a national charity focused on providing all Australian children with a good start in life. They deliver early intervention programs which support and improve the pre-school development of children born into families in disadvantaged and marginalised communities.
We are also a financial member of the Australian Business and Community Network through which our staff volunteer to take part in mentoring and literacy programs delivered to students in high needs schools across Australia. The administration of these programs is funded entirely by the membership fees of the network.
Each of our offices partners with a school in their city. As part of this program, a Norton Rose Fulbright senior partner provides business mentoring to the School Principal and we assist in the delivery of programs designed to meet the needs of the school and its students. The network also provides an annual national scholarship program which supports socially and economically disadvantaged children to attend school and university.
In order to connect and be relevant to the local communities that we are a part of in each state, our offices drive their own agenda regarding the identification of charitable causes and activities which are relevant and meaningful to their location and people.
