Environmental sustainability in Australia

Contacts

The world’s ecosystems are fragile. They are under threat from climate change, global warming, pollution, ozone depletion and deforestation.

In Australia we understand the positive effect that adopting sustainable practices can have in preserving our world. We are committed to identifying and implementing market leading environmentally sustainable property and business management practices which reduce our impact on the environment.

We contribute to best practice in this area through our membership of the Australian Legal Sector Alliance (AusLSA), a voluntary body that promotes sustainable business practices in the legal sector.

We are an active member of City Switch, Australia's flagship tenant energy efficiency program, and have won a number of awards in recognition of our efforts to reduce our carbon emissions. For example, thanks to the combined efforts of our staff, we were recently awarded one of Australia’s highest honours for office energy efficiency—the CitySwitch Victorian Signatory of the Year Award—for significantly improving the energy rating of our Melbourne office.

In seeking to improve our environmental performance, we will focus specifically on reducing our paper consumption, electricity consumption, the amount of waste we send to landfill, and our carbon emissions.
