Norton Rose Fulbright adds a high quality real estate partner in Melbourne

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright announced today that Adrian Jones will be returning to the firm as a partner in its real estate practice team in Melbourne, bringing with him local, international and in-house experience across commercial, residential, student accommodation, wind and solar farms, and airports.

Mr Jones began his career as a commercial property lawyer at Norton Rose Fulbright in 2005, and became a senior associate in the real estate team in 2012, where he acted for some of Australia’s biggest developers and property investors including Investa, The GPT Group and McDonald’s Australia.

He also spent four years in Abu Dhabi, which included a secondment with Abu Dhabi Airports Company working on matters for a terminal business park, private jet and helicopter operators, cargo terminals, lounge access agreements and retail outlets.

In addition to his international roles, Mr Jones was most recently the in-house general counsel for student accommodation company Scape Australia, assisting on all legal matters including acquisition and development of sites, management of real estate funds and negotiation of construction contracts and disputes.

The appointment is the latest example of the firm’s sustained investment in its Australian partnership across priority industry areas. In October, James Crowe joined as a corporate M&A and technology partner, following energy and resources partners Paul Lingard and Miriam D’Souza in Perth. In November, the firm announced the appointment of Holly McAdam, Richard Morrison, Martin Taylor and Catherine Whitby to join in Canberra.

The firm also added three senior non-legal advisors in the past month to grow the Australian arm of the global risk advisory team to complement the firm’s large team of risk advisory partners and lawyers.
