Nicole Wearne is an insurance litigation lawyer based in Melbourne.

Nicole’s practice draws on two decades’ experience gathered across the spectrum of insurance law, including defence of public liability matters, professional indemnity actions, directors’ and officers’ litigation, class actions, major torts and indemnity advice to private/public sector. She has been involved in a number of high profile litigation disputes which were ultimately resolved by the High Court of Australia.

Nicole acts for local insurers, London market underwriters, government departments and agencies and third party claims administrators. Her clients include CGU Insurance Ltd, QBE European Operations, Brit Insurance, the Victorian Government, Comcover and Architects Professional Risks Services.

Nicole has a strong practice in construction litigation and financial institutions litigation. She has been involved in significant general liability/property damage claims and in defence of professionals including architects, building surveyors, building inspectors, land surveyors, valuers, estate agents, landscape architects, structural, geotechnical and civil engineers, financial advisers, insurance agents, insurance brokers, barristers, solicitors, life agents, accountants and tax agents.
