International legal practice, Norton Rose LLP has announced today that Catrina Smith will join as a partner in the London office. Catrina Smith was previously a partner in the Employment and Incentives practice at Linklaters LLP.
Catrina Smith is a specialist in all aspects of employment law; including corporate transactions, collective labour law, discrimination issues, and both contentious and non-contentious work. She acted, while at Linklaters, on the highly complex insolvencies of both Lehman Brothers and Woolworths.
Paul Griffin, Head of Employment and Labour at Norton Rose LLP in London, commented:
“Catrina’s experience is a perfect mix for us of transactional, advisory and contentious. She has had lead roles on a number of high profile and challenging transactions and matters. The breadth of her experience, particularly on multi-jurisdictional matters, will prove very valuable for our clients.”
Deirdre Walker, Group Head of Litigation and Dispute Resolution at Norton Rose Group, commented:
“Catrina is a well-respected partner and the quality of her work on employment disputes is very impressive. She will be a real asset for our practice and Catrina's hire is part of an overall strategy of increasing our strength in employment and labour law internationally.”
Chambers UK 2011 credits Catrina Smith as “an excellent, redoubtable litigator” who “handles the full range of contentious and non-contentious issues.”
