Montreal, Quebec City and Toronto advise Bombardier on C Series Partnership

October 2017 Client: Bombardier

Our Montréal, Québec City and Toronto offices advised Bombardier in connection with the entering into of a binding agreement with Airbus and Investissement Québec regarding the acquisition by Airbus of a majority interest in C Series Aircraft Limited Partnership (the Partnership), the entity that manufactures and sells C Series aircraft. Airbus will provide procurement, sales and marketing, and customer support expertise to the Partnership. At closing, Airbus will acquire a 50.01% interest in the Partnership, while Bombardier and Investissement Québec will respectively own approximately 31% and 19% of the Partnership. Airbus will have the right at a later time to acquire the interests of its partners. The closing of the transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals.

Norton Rose Fulbright represented Bombardier externally. The team was led by Paul Raymond and Nicolas Labrecque and included, in Montréal, David Millette, Peter Riddell, Marilyne Rougeau, Sarah Leclerc, and Weihe Feng (M&A), Jules Charette (Tax), Solomon Sananes (Securities), Peter Wiazowski (Banking) and Marianne Plamondon (Employment), in Quebec City Jean-Nicolas Prévost (Real Estate) and Mélissa Devost (Environment), and in Toronto Chris Hunter (IP), with support from the Paris, London and Munich offices.
