Vancouver advises the City of Vancouver on its duty of care in the demolition of a heritage home

October 25, 2018 Client: City of Vancouver

Our Vancouver office is advising the City of Vancouver on an appeal pertaining to a duty of care in negligence for the issuance of a demolition permit for a heritage home.

The case is significant as it represents the first time a duty of care had been found to exist for a local government.

The matter was led by Dan Bennett, QC.
