Norton Rose Fulbright is an official sponsor of the world-famous Hong Kong Sevens rugby tournament for the 6th year running. The event, which takes place from April 8-10, is firmly established as the world's premier event of its kind and one of the most popular annual sporting events in Asia.

The event attracts some of the world's greatest rugby players and thousands of fans from every corner of the globe to the magnificent Hong Kong Stadium every year. In the lead up to the debut Sevens tournament at the Rio Olympic Games this year, the anticipation couldn’t be higher. All eleven of the presently qualified teams for Rio will be present in Hong Kong.

Local Hong Kong fans will be showing their support for the Hong Kong team in an important lead-up to their final chance to qualify for the Olympics at the repechage tournament in June, having been unsuccessful in November last year.

The 2016 Cathay Pacific/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens, organised by the Hong Kong Rugby Union (HKRU), marks the 41st year of sevens in Hong Kong, with 120,000 visitors expected to attend the event.

With fast and furious rugby action combined with a carnival atmosphere and world rugby's largest prize purse, the 2016 Cathay Pacific /HSBC Hong Kong Sevens will be an unforgettable three days for everyone there.

From kicking off with 12 teams in front of 3,000 people at the Hong Kong Football Club in 1976 to today's three-day extravaganza of international rugby revelry with 28 teams playing in front of a total of 120,000 spectators, the 2016 Cathay Pacific / HSBC Hong Kong Sevens is "Where the World Comes to Play."
