Arbitration and alternative dispute resolution

Contacts

Meet the team

“Greatly professional, highly experienced and very thorough.” Who’s Who Legal 2010, Canada.

We work closely with our clients to determine the best dispute resolution process. Our global team of elite lawyers has direct experience of arbitrating before all the major arbitral institutions and of advising on unadministered (ad hoc) arbitration across a variety of industry sectors in many different jurisdictions.

We have handled a wide range of high value, complex, multi-jurisdictional disputes including local and trans-national contract and other commercial disputes, trade law cases, investment treaty arbitrations, sports-related disputes, and boundary and other public international law conflicts. We have a depth of expertise in a number of industry sectors, including construction and infrastructure projects.

Our extensive disputes experience means that we are well placed to provide dispute avoidance, risk management and contractual advice. This is a key issue for our clients, particularly in light of increased regulation in many industry sectors.

The members of our team are highly experienced in advising on and conducting disputes with a wide range of governing laws and procedural seats. Whatever the features of your organization and your dispute, we have the expertise, support and personalities to work with you to achieve successful and commercially-advantageous results.

“The one the others have to catch in Canada.” Global Arbitration Review 2009, Canada.

We also have mediators, expert determiners and arbitrators on the team. We also keep an open mind as to how best – and cost-effectively – to secure our clients’ goals. No one seeks a dispute and all commercial businesses want a resolution (in their favour) if one occurs. Resolution is the endpoint.
