Peter Valente practises corporate and commercial law with a focus on corporate finance, securities, mergers and acquisitions, and banking.
Mr. Valente worked with us both as a summer student and as an articling student before joining us as an associate. During his articles, Mr. Valente completed a secondment in the legal department of The Bank of Nova Scotia where he gained valuable experience working on a variety of transactions.
While in law school, Mr. Valente won the Warren K. Winkler Class Actions Moot; was a finalist in the Hockey Arbitration Competition of Canada, arguing in the final; and participated in the Corporate/Securities Law Moot. Mr. Valente also served as associate business manager of the Windsor Review of Legal and Social Issues, and worked as a research assistant and teaching assistant in constitutional law, torts law, tax law and advanced tax law.
Prior to his law career, Mr. Valente worked for two years at a stock transfer agent in Toronto, in the equity plan solutions department.
