Dr. Caroline Herkströter is a banking lawyer based in Frankfurt. She focuses on bank regulation and investment law.
Caroline advises credit institutions and financial service providers, especially investment and universal banks, investment companies and securities trading firms on all aspects of domestic, European and international banking and capital markets law.
Caroline advises on the launch and the distribution of hedge funds, private equity funds and closed-end real estate funds within Germany by way of public offering or private placement. She specialises in cross-border distribution of financial products as well as in prime brokerage, securities lending, global custody and investment advisor liability.
Recent transactions include advice on the establishment and acquisition of German credit institutions, joint ventures, the extension of banking licences and on collateral management systems. Moreover she advised on several (global) outsourcing projects and on listings of funds at the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
Caroline joined the Frankfurt office as a partner in March 2007. She is a native German speaker and is fluent in English and French.
