Dr. Caroline Herkströter is a banking partner in our Frankfurt office. She specialises in banking regulation and investment law. Caroline advises credit institutions and financial services providers, in particular, investment and full-services banks, investment companies and investment firms on all aspects of German, European and international banking and capital markets law.
Caroline also advises on the launch and distribution of UCITS and AIFs, in particular, private equity funds as well as closed-ended and mutual real property funds in Germany under public offers or private placements. Caroline further specialises in prime brokerage, securities lending transactions, global custody as well as liability for investment advice and prospectus liability. Recent deals included advising on the implementation of collateral management projects and the requirements under EMIR for German capital management companies. Caroline also advised on the foundation and acquisition of German credit institutions, joint ventures, license issues as well as various (international) outsourcing projects and the listing of investment funds at the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. Her areas of specialisation include, amongst others, the cross-border distribution of financial products.
Caroline joined our Frankfurt office as a partner in March 2007. As a native German speaker, Caroline is fluent in English and French.
