International legal practice Norton Rose Group has advised HSH Nordbank AG (HSH) on the €44.5 million financing of a portfolio of six solar parks in Italy with a cumulated capacity of 24 MW.

A team from Norton Rose Group’s Munich, Milan and Rome offices advised HSH on all aspects of the project financing.

The solar parks, which are located in the regions of Lazio and Campania, have been built by Sun Edison Italia Construction S.r.l. The project sponsor is a renewable energy fund for institutional investors initiated by leading German issuing house KGAL GmbH & Co. KG, and the solar parks are operated by six Italian special purpose vehicles (SPVs).

The loan is refinanced by German development bank KfW under the KfW Renewable Energies Programme (KfW-Programm Erneuerbare Energien).

The team was led by banking partner Dirk Trautmann in Munich with assistance from Steffi Birkholz, Markus Radbruch and Felicitas Wheeler. Milan based partner Arturo Sferruzza also advised on the financing, assisted by Giovanna Landi, Marcello Ciampi, Marina Adessi and Luigi Costa. Tax advice was provided by Fabrizio Tenuta in Rome.

Schönherr Rechtanwälte (Vienna) provided Austrian law advice for HSH.
