Yerzhan Kumarov is an energy and natural resources lawyer, based in Almaty, and is the Managing Partner of our Kazakhstan practice. He specialises in mining and infrastructure financing, banking, project finance, debt restructuring, antitrust/competition, securitisation and general corporate matters. He offers clients specialist regulatory advice covering title, licensing and the operational aspects of mining and energy transactions.
Yerzhan has extensive experience of representing domestic and international companies in structuring cross-border investment and financial projects over a wide spectrum of industries. He leads our natural resources team in Central Asia, advising strategic investors on the exploration, development and production of minerals, with the establishment of joint ventures, as well as with the acquisition and sale of equity or assets. His clients include international banks, multilateral financial organisations, major corporations and credit rating agencies.
