The European life sciences team at Norton Rose Fulbright invite you to attend their annual Life Sciences Academy.

Guest speakers include representatives from Pfizer, Sandoz, LumiraDx and the ABHI.

With increased regulatory scrutiny, Brexit and technology advances; 2016 has been a turbulent year in the life sciences sector.  Our academy will equip in-house legal teams with the know-how and practicalities of how to deal with these changing times.

We will bring together our own and industry experts (including speakers from Pfizer, Sandoz, LumiraDx and the ABHI) to identify and discuss the top of mind issues for in-house legal teams.  The academy will also feature a panel of GCs from the sector focused on the role of General Counsel & Compliance in risk management, and how to create an ethical culture and reduce risk. There will be ample opportunities for questions and a networking lunch.

Huw Evans is Head of Life Sciences and Healthcare, EMEA and a partner in the London office at Norton Rose Fulbright.

Market Access Director, Association of British Healthcare Industries

Andrew Davies is Market Access Director at the ABHI. His responsibility is for ensuring that reimbursement, evaluation and adoption mechanisms are aligned and optimized to support access for medical technologies. This entails creating an on going dialogue between industry and policy makers to ensure efficient and effective diffusion structures, processes and methodologies are created and maintained.

Andrew has worked in the Medical Technology sector for over 20 years experience in the medical devices industry having worked within MedTech divisions of household names such as Thorn EMI, Philips and Bristol-Myers Squibb. He has held roles covering UK and international marketing, market access and business development across both capital and consumable equipment.

He has a degree in Applied Physics and a post graduate Diploma in Marketing.

Ruth hails from the North of England where she started her career in private practice. In 2003, she started her in-house career at Pfizer as a legal adviser in the UK team. Over the last 13 years she has assumed various positions of increasing seniority and she has been International Legal Lead for Europe, Canada, Australia & New Zealand for the last 18 months. Ruth is based in Pfizer’s Surrey office but spends a lot of time on the road, visiting her team and also traveling to New York HQ where the Executive Team meets regularly.
