Join us for a discussion of the Trump Administration's recent Executive Orders and Presidential Memoranda relevant to financial services regulation.
March 2 – Government by Executive Order and Presidential Memoranda
While the new Congress is still getting underway and confirming nominees, the Trump Administration has issued a flurry of Executive Orders and Presidential Memoranda, several of which could have significant implications for the financial services sector.
In our next briefing, we will look at the nature of several of these Executive actions, including what they say vs. how they have been reported in the press; their implications (both apparent and subtle) for federal financial regulatory agencies; how they have been received; and the extent to which they mirror and depart from what previous Presidents have done.
Topics will include:
- Memoranda on pending agency rulemakings and hiring
- Executive Order on regulating the US financial system
- Executive Order on reducing regulation and controlling regulatory costs
