Downing street

The UK general election will take place on 7 May 2015 and is expected to be one of the most closely contested with no party likely to emerge with a clear majority.

The lack of a clear frontrunner in the political polls has created uncertainty for businesses as it is unclear, for instance, whether the next government will call a referendum on European Union membership, make more cuts to corporation tax or deliver a third runway for Heathrow airport.

Our lawyers have produced a number of briefing notes analysing the key points from the manifestos of the Conservative, Labour and Liberal Democrat parties.

Further briefing notes will follow should a coalition government be formed, setting out the main parameters of any arrangements and assessing their implications.
