Alain Malek
Partner, Head of office
Alain Malek is a corporate lawyer based in Casablanca and Paris. He heads our North Africa practice and is head of our Casablanca office. He specialises in mergers and acquisitions and has handled numerous cross-border transactions involving leading groups in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
Alain has extensive experience advising on infrastructure and natural resources projects, such as assisting companies and governments in the Middle East on reconstruction following wars and natural disasters. He has also advised financial institutions on projects in Africa, such as for mining-related needs and power plants. Alain has worked on M&A transactions, privatisations, concessions and invitations to tender for both private foreign groups and private national groups operating in Africa in the telecommunications, tourism, real property and financial institutions sectors.
Alain has a Maîtrise (master’s degree) in business law and corporate taxation from the University of Paris II Assas, and a DEA (post-graduate degree) from the University of Paris II Panthéon-Assas. Alain is a member of the Paris Bar and is fluent in French, English and Arabic.
