Norton Rose Fulbright advises Synlab on the information and consultation procedure with unions for the acquisition of GeneticLab

Business January 12, 2017

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has advised and represented Synlab, Europe’s largest clinical laboratory service provider, on the information and consultation procedure with the Italian trade union following Synlab’s acquisition of GeneticLab Srl, a diagnostics center active in genetics and molecular biology, and the transfer of employees from the target, GeneticLab Srl, to Synlab. Synlab is present in 30 countries, on four continents; it has over 1,000 employees in Italy and 13,000 across its network.

The Norton Rose Fulbright team was led by Milan-based employment law partner Attilio Pavone, assisted by Giorgio Manca, associate, and Marco Regalia, trainee.

Attilio Pavone commented:

“Working in strict collaboration with Dr. Andrea Rube, HR Director of Synlab, we were able to help Synlab conduct successful negotiations with the trade union, which concluded with a signed agreement between the company and the unions regarding a new incentive scheme for all the former employees of GeneticLab who were transferred to Synlab.”
