People November 28, 2017

Anne Lapierre, head of energy for Paris and co-manager of the firm’s Casablanca office at global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright, has been appointed to sit as a sustainable development expert on Bertrand Piccard’s Solar Impulse Foundation’s Strategic Committee. The Committee’s main purpose is to advise the Foundation on its strategy and more specifically on the management of its World Alliance for Efficient Solutions initiative.

The World Alliance, which was officially launched in Bonn during COP23, aims to select and foster 1000 clean and economically competitive solutions. In order to fulfill this mission, the World Alliance brings together members from the fields of clean technologies and sustainable development and encourage governments, companies and institutions to pursue more realistic, ambitious, long-term and affordable environmental goals than those currently in place. The selected solutions will be presented during COP24, to be held in Krakow, Poland, in 2018.

Anne Lapierre will sit amongst the Independent Members (predominant) at the Committee alongside Representatives of Partners and Donors of the Foundation including companies such as Air Liquide, BNP Paribas in Switzerland, Covestro, Engie, Nestlé, Solvay or Schlumberger, and other members of the World Alliance.

Anne Lapierre, commented: “It is a great honour to be part of this Strategic Committee and to be involved with the Solar Impulse Foundation’s ambitious project. Together, we will be promoting innovative and efficient green solutions that are economically sustainable. Norton Rose Fulbright is at the forefront on renewable energy matters so it was an easy decision for me to accept Bertrand Piccard’s invitation to be part of this new and exciting adventure ”.

Simon Currie, global head of energy: “Anne is a recognised leader in the field of renewable energy. Her passion and experience will surely positively contribute to the Alliance reaching its ambitious objective of 1000 clean and profitable solutions.”
