Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has announced the appointment of Sbu Gule as CEO of Norton Rose Fulbright South Africa Inc and Marelise van der Westhuizen as Executive Chairman of Norton Rose Fulbright South Africa Inc. These appointments are effective April 1, 2018.
Sbu, the current President of the Law Society of the Northern Provinces, joined the firm in 2000 and has been serving as Chairman since 2012.
Marelise is a director in the commercial litigation team and the head of the risk advisory practice in South Africa. Marelise will be the third female Chair appointed at Norton Rose Fulbright this year, following the appointment of Tricia Hobson, global chair and Australia Chair, effective January 1, 2018 and Farmida Bi as Chair, Europe, Middle East and Asia, effective May 1, 2018.
