This year, at the 7th edition of the coveted LegalCommunity Labour Awards, the firm’s employment law team in Italy was recognized for client appreciation, especially in relation to the team’s “proactive approach and the ability to have a global vision of the multitude of aspects of each specific case.”

The firm was recognised for their work advising long standing client Synlab. The life sciences company is a leader in the market for medical diagnostics services. Norton Rose Fulbright employment team in Milan assisted in the delicate negotiation process with the unions regarding a complex and innovative nation-wide agreement that will apply to over 1,500 workers and 15 companies belonging to the Synlab Group.

Attilio Pavone, Head of Italy and Head of Employment (Italy), comments:

“It is always an honor to be recognized by clients and peers for a job well done. I am thankful that LegalCommunity has a dedicated category for the employment law practice area, so important for businesses in all industry sectors. As for the work that I and my team, especially Senior Associate Giorgio Manca, have done for Synlab, this was particularly rewarding because it is an example of how responsible companies can reconcile technical and organizational needs with making significant improvements in the living and working conditions of its employees. Synlab has set an important example in Italy in reaching an agreement with the unions and we expect other companies may follow suit.”
