Biography

Patti has over 35 years' experience in the federal income tax aspects of tax exempt financing.  Her practice is focused on the representation of governmental issuers of tax-exempt financings, including general governmental obligations, infrastructure and public utility financings, and restructurings through refundings and workouts, and tax exempt financings for Section 501(c)(3) organizations in the areas of health care, higher education, primary and secondary education, and cultural institutions. 

Patti's practice has also included collateral transactions involving tax-exempt bonds, such as securitizations of tax-exempt bonds, swaps, and hedges, and the representation of clients in connection with IRS audits of tax exempt financings and voluntary closing agreement program (VCAP) submissions.  She has also provided pro bono representation to a variety of civic and social welfare organizations in connection with their tax exempt status.
