Larissa Leong is a lawyer whose practice focuses on the creation, protection, and enforcement of intellectual property assets in Canada, in the United States, and around the world. She also holds a degree in pharmacology and computer science, providing her with insight into a wide variety of technical fields.

Ms. Leong advises clients in relation to innovations spanning a diverse range of technology and science domains, including computer hardware and software, database and data management systems, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, distributed computing, information security and cybersecurity, financial technology, mobile devices, telecommunications, business and regulatory compliance systems, image recognition and processing systems, mechanical devices, medical devices, healthcare technology, biomarkers and biotechnology, molecular biology, biochemistry, and pharmaceuticals.

While in law school, Ms. Leong received awards for academic excellence, legal writing, top standing in coursework, and community service.

Prior to her legal career, Ms. Leong conducted research in the areas of human-computer interaction and medical genetics, including under an award from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC). 

Ms. Leong joined our Toronto office as a summer student and returned to article with us. As part of her articles, she was seconded to the Bank of Montreal to work with the legal team.

Prior to joining us, Ms. Leong summered at the Vancouver office of a leading national intellectual property law firm.
