Timo Spitzer is a banking and finance lawyer based in Frankfurt and Munich.
His practice focuses on advising national and international clients with respect to structured finance transactions (in particular cross-border finance, export finance and structured trade and commodity finance) and general banking issues. From February 2011 until March 2012, Timo was seconded to HypoVereinsbank (UniCredit Group) in Munich where he supported in particular the business units of Global Transaction Banking and Corporate & Investment Banking as In-house Legal Counsel.
Timo graduated from the University of Cologne in 2003 and holds an LL.M. degree in International Economic Law from Victoria University of Wellington (New Zealand). During his legal education he worked for other renowned international law firms in New York, Paris, Tokyo and São Paulo, for the German Federal Ministry of Finance in Berlin and for an investment agency in Brazil.
He is qualified both as Rechtsanwalt in Germany and as Solicitor in England and Wales and is a member of the Frankfurt am Main Bar Association and the Law Society of England and Wales. A native German speaker, Timo also speaks English, French, Portuguese and Spanish.
