Robert Borduas has significant experience in bank financing, commercial leasing, securitization and general commercial law. He has particular expertise in project financing, derivative products and structured financing. He acts as lead counsel representing borrowers and financial institutions in syndicated loan, securitization and factoring transactions, as well as cross-border leasing transactions and syndication and sub-participation transactions. Mr. Borduas has also acted as counsel in various public-private partnerships in Canada.

Mr. Borduas is the Canadian leader of our infrastructure practice. He is also co-chair of our Canadian projects and project finance and debt finance teams. He was a member of the Mulroney-Johnson Commission that advised the Government of Quebec on the implementation of the Université de Montréal Hospital Centre (CHUM) and the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC).

    • The underwriter in connection with the $393.8-million bond financing of Groupe Accès-Recherche Montréal for the Research Centre of the Université de Montréal Hospital Centre (CRCHUM)
    • The lenders of Nouvelle Autoroute 30, s.e.n.c. in connection with the $1.1-billion financing of the completion of Highway 30 southwest of Montreal
    • Groupe Ovation in connection with the Montreal acoustic concert hall PPP project
    • Bombardier Inc. with respect to a letter of credit facility of €4.3 billion
    • RONA Inc. with respect to syndicated loan facilities totalling $600 million  
    • Royal Bank of Canada as the agent of the bank syndicate in connection with the syndicated loan facilities of Alter Moneta
    • Laurentian Bank of Canada in connection with the securitization of certain residential real estate loans
    • Domtar Inc. in connection with the securitization of its accounts receivable
    • Bombardier Inc. in connection with the program with the Government of Quebec to finance its regional jets
