While in law school, Gwen served as a general editor for the Civil Rights-Civil Liberties Law Review. Additionally, Gwen served two years as a student attorney at the Harvard Legal Aid Bureau, the nation's oldest student-run legal services center. As a student attorney, Gwen represented low-income individuals in custody, divorce, support, paternity, social security appeals and unemployment benefits matters. Gwen also participated in the Capital Punishment Clinic, Tenant Advocacy Project and the Recording Artists Project. In 2007, Gwen was recognized for completing over 1,000 hours of pro bono service while in law school.
Gwen is admitted to practice law in the District of Columbia. She is also admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the District of Columbia.
