Roy Goldman practices in the New York office, where he has been a partner since 1989, and serves as co-chair of the Private Equity Practice Group. He has a broad corporate and securities practice, with extensive experience in public (including initial public offerings) and private issuances of equity and debt securities (representing both issuers and underwriters), exchange and tenders offers, mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, private equity, commercial finance (representing borrowers), corporate restructurings and securities law compliance and disclosure issues. Roy also advises companies and boards of directors regarding numerous corporate matters, including corporate governance and compliance.
Previously, Roy served as a law clerk for the Honorable David N. Edelstein, Chief Judge of the United States District Court, Southern District of New York. Roy was vice president and general counsel of International Healthcare Corporation, a diversified health care provider organized to deliver high quality, cost-controlled health care services outside the traditional hospital-centered, cost-reimbursed milieu.
Mr. Goldman received a B.A. in 1976 from State University of New York at Binghamton, where he was elected Phi Beta Kappa, and a J.D., magna cum laude, in 1979 from Georgetown University. Additionally, Mr. Goldman was Topics Editor of the Georgetown University Law Journal. He was admitted to practice law in the District of Columbia in 1979 and in New York in 1981.

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has advised ROFIN-SINAR Technologies, Inc. on an agreement with Coherent, Inc. under which Coherent will acquire ROFN-SINAR for $32.50 per share. The transaction is valued at approx. $942 million and is expected to close within six to nine months, subject to the approval of ROFIN-SINAR stockholders as well as regulatory approvals in the US and other countries..
