Norton Rose Fulbright advises J.P. Morgan Asset Management on the acquisition of the onshore wind portfolio of the Infinis Group

Global Business June 8, 2017

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has advised J.P. Morgan Asset Management (JPMAM) in relation to the acquisition, by institutional investors advised by JPMAM, of the Infinis Group’s 400 MW onshore wind portfolio, one of the largest independently-owned operating wind portfolios in the UK.

The portfolio comprises 20 projects totalling 409MW of generating capacity, including a 66MW project that became fully operational in February 2017. The acquisition complements the existing renewables portfolio of JPMAM, increasing its renewables energy production capacity to over 3200 MW.

The Norton Rose Fulbright team acting for JPMAM was led by partners Chris Grieves and Richard Hill and included of counsel Tim Baines, senior associates Hannah Logan and Ed Gardner, associates Dan Newcombe and Guy Perkins, and trainee solicitor Thomas Widdows.

Chris Grieves said: "We are delighted to have advised J.P. Morgan Asset Management on the acquisition of the onshore operational wind interests of the Infinis Group, supporting its ongoing investment in renewables businesses. This transaction is part of a trend of consolidation in the UK renewables sector in which J.P. Morgan Asset Management is a leading player."

Norton Rose Fulbright provides the full spectrum of legal services in the renewable energy sector, including advice and representation with respect to project development and financing, new supply, negotiation of power purchase agreements, acquisition of project facilities, and all related commercial and regulatory issues.
