New York lawyer named National Law Journal Trailblazer

May 23, 2016

New York partner Lisa Tonery was named among the National Law Journal’s 2016 Energy & Environmental Trailblazers, which recognizes “the great minds impacting the crucial intersection of energy production and the environment.”

Tonery focuses her practice on the development of energy infrastructure, including liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminals, natural gas pipelines and natural gas storage facilities, as well as related transactional and financing matters. She has more than 25 years of experience representing clients in a wide array of permitting and regulatory compliance matters in proceedings before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).

Among her many victories, Tonery obtained the very first Department of Energy authorization to export LNG and the first FERC authorization to site, construct and operate LNG export facilities in the contiguous United States.

Tonery sits on the firm’s Global Supervisory Board and also serves as the co-chair of the firm's LNG International Business Group and heads the US LNG regulatory practice.
