Chadbourne Nominated for 'Americas Deal of the Year' Awards by International Financial Law Review

Chadbourne & Parke LLP has been nominated by International Financial Law Review (IFLR) for five practice awards for their upcoming Americas awards ceremony. Three of the firm’s transactions were nominated for “Deal of the Year,” while the firm was short-listed for “Team of the Year” in both the M&A and Project Finance categories.

Below are the deals that were nominated for awards: 

M&A Deal of the Year: Enel Américas Reorganization – Represented Enel and Enel Américas S.A. in connection with a reorganization of US$22 billion of Latin American assets in five countries. The transaction included two spin-offs to create four companies whose American Depositary Receipts are listed on the New York Stock Exchange, a three-way merger involving a Chilean company listed on the Santiago Stock Exchange and two of the New York Stock Exchange listed companies, a US$1.5 billion dual jurisdictional tender offer, a debt financing and a registered bond offering. Chadbourne corporate partners Allen Miller and Sey-Hyo Lee led the deal.

Debt and Equity-linked Deal of the Year: Freeport LNG Train 2 Project Bond – Advised the initial purchasers in connection with the offer and sale by FLNG Liquefaction 2, LLC (FLIQ2) of US$1.25 billion of 4.125% senior secured notes in an exempt offering under Rule 144A and Regulation S. The Chadbourne team was led by partner Noam Ayali, assisted by partner Kessar Nashat.

Project Finance Deal of the Year: El Pelícano Solar PV Project – Represented the lenders in connection with the US$199.5 million financing of the 100 MW El Pelícano solar project in Chile. El Pelícano will supply 42 percent of the electricity needed to power the Metro de Santiago, the subway system of Santiago. Chadbourne’s deal team was led by partner Todd Alexander. 

The nominations top off a stellar year for Chadbourne. The award winners will be announced at a ceremony on Thursday, May 18 at the Pierre Hotel in New York City.
