US Project finance lawyers named “Rising Star” by Law360

Two partners from Norton Rose Fulbright, Brian Greene and Michael Pikiel, were named among Law360's Rising Stars in the area of project finance. The annual award recognizes lawyers under the age of 40 who have achieved significant accomplishments and major milestones in their legal careers. This year, Law360 considered a pool of more than 1,200 nominees from 75 law firms. Greene and Pikiel are among just five project finance lawyers recognized as Rising Stars by Law360.

Pikiel is Norton Rose Fulbright's US Head of Infrastructure, Mining and Commodities and focuses his practice on the infrastructure, transportation and energy industries. Based in the New York office, Pikiel was selected based on his role on several major infrastructure projects, including the acquisition of Northwest Parkway in Denver, Detroit's Metro Region Freeway Lighting P3 project, and the SH 288 Toll Lanes Project in Harris County outside of Houston, Texas. Pikiel also recently advised on an award-winning US$550m project to design, build, finance, operate and maintain a new city hall, a new public library, new parking facilities, a revitalized park and a new headquarters in Long Beach, California. In addition, Mike was selected as a David Rockefeller Fellow for the Class of 2015-2016 by the Partnership for New York City, a business and civic leadership program established in 1989 as a tribute to the civic contributions of David Rockefeller.

Greene, a partner in Norton Rose Fulbright's Washington, DC office, was recognized for his outstanding work on several enormous LNG projects, including the US$12bn Freeport LNG liquefaction and export project in Texas, the US$10bn Sabine Pass LNG liquefaction project in Louisiana, and the financing of Panama's first LNG facility, the AES Colon CCGT Gas Terminal. Some of Brian's other deal highlights include the financing of the 1,485 MW Lackawanna Energy Center, and the development of several groundbreaking solar energy deals in the US and Latin America.
