The rising impact of secondary perils
It has been reported that at the beginning of June 2024 nine people died and over 2000 households have been demolished due to sever flooding in the Eastern Cape.

On 7 August 2015, the U.S. Commerce Department’s Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) published a final rule adding a Russian oil and gas field, the Yuzhno-Kirinskoye Field located in the Sea of Okhotsk, to the Entity List maintained in the Export Administration Regulations, 15 C.F.R. Parts 730-774 (EAR). According to the Federal Register, the field was added as it is reported to contain reserves of oil in addition to gas.
