Beau is a trial lawyer who focuses his practice on high-stakes business disputes for clients operating in a variety of industries. His current clients include publicly traded banks, oil and gas exploration/investment companies, a large hospital system, a publicly traded insurance company, several private equity companies, and two of the three largest publicly traded motion picture theatre companies in the country. These clients have entrusted Beau to prosecute and/or defend all manner of commercial cases, including lawsuits involving claims for breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, fraud, unjust enrichment, and trade secret misappropriation. In addition to his commercial practice, Mr. Cox also has significant experience handling private antitrust litigation and government antitrust investigations.

Beau's trial experience includes a six-week jury trial in California (antitrust), a three-week jury trial in Texas (breach of contract/negligent misrepresentation), a two-week AAA arbitration in Texas (fraud/breach of fiduciary duty), five different FINRA arbitrations (customer-member disputes against banks), and myriad evidentiary injunctive proceedings. In addition to his trial experience, he and his team have also won numerous complex commercial/antitrust lawsuits via motion to dismiss or motion for summary judgment.

  • Obtained summary judgment in Texas state court on behalf of motion picture exhibitor in contentious antitrust action brought by another exhibitor

  • Secured a reverse-and-render decision from Sixth Court of Appeals on behalf of Texas-based oil and gas company after protracted litigation involving claims for breach of contract, fraud, negligent misrepresentation, unjust enrichment, and money had and received
  • Represented defendant in three-week $35 million jury trial in Travis County, Texas, involving claims for trade secret misappropriation, breach of contract, and negligent misrepresentation
  • Represented Texas-based oil and gas company in a two-week $50 million arbitration in Houston, Texas, involving claims for breach of fiduciary duty, breach of the prudent operator rule, and fraud
  • Obtained summary judgment in favor of leading financial institution in case involving claims for breach of an alleged syndicated loan trade
  • Defended a director of a public company in a shareholder derivative lawsuit for breach of fiduciary duty, self-dealing, and corporate waste
  • Represented large hospital system in contentious breach of contract case brought by tenant
  • Obtained expungement for broker as lead counsel in FINRA arbitration involving suitability claims
  • Obtained complete pre-trial dismissal of all claims as lead counsel for a broker-dealer in a FINRA arbitration involving fraudulent transfer claims
  • Served as lead trial counsel for a broker-dealer at a three-day FINRA arbitration involving claims for breach of fiduciary duty, negligence, and failure to supervise
