Biography
Véronique Bruel is a banking lawyer based in Paris. She focuses on debt finance structures for energy-related projects and public private partnerships in France and French-speaking Africa, as well as asset-backed financings in relation to the aviation, shipping and rail sectors, having more than 20 years’ experience advising banks, international finance institutions, sponsors as well as investment funds. Véronique has gained a broad and in-depth knowledge of IFIs’ requirements (including AFD, EIB, KfW, Proparco, the World Bank group and in particular IFC).
Véronique read French law at the University of Paris (Maîtrise de Droit des Affaires) and at the University of Aix-en-Provence where she obtained a post-graduate degree (DESS-DJCE Droit des Affaires, Option International). She was also awarded a BA in English law from the University of Canterbury. She joined the Paris office in 1993. Véronique is admitted to the Paris Bar and was promoted as Of Counsel in 2006.
A native French speaker, Véronique is fluent in English.
