Firm achieves double listing in Lloyd’s List’s ‘top 10 maritime lawyers 2022’

Global Press release - Firm December 2022

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has seen two of its partners recognised in the Lloyd’s List ‘top 10 maritime lawyers 2022’, the only firm to have more than one lawyer included.

The Lloyd’s List ‘top 10 maritime lawyers’ is an annual shortlist of the legal sector’s most prominent professionals supporting the shipping industry.

This year’s list features Norton Rose Fulbright’s shipping partners, global co-head of transport and shipping Christine Ezcutari and US head of transport, Brian Devine.

Christine‘s practice focuses on ship finance and encompasses structured financings, either in the form of complex multi-jurisdictional financing, tax structures or export credit financing. She is experienced in advising major banks and is recommended in Chambers Europe as a "leading figure on the market" by sources. She has extensive experience advising major banks on the financing of a range of vessels, including recently LNG carriers, ro-pax, power ships and cruise ships. Chambers Global described her as being "well-versed in domestic and cross-border asset and project financing transactions".

Brian frequently represents financial institutions and borrowers with a particular focus on maritime-related assets. He counsels clients across multiple jurisdictions including Liberia, the Marshall Islands and the United States in areas such as finance and security arrangements; insolvency matters; mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures; debt and equity offerings; sale and purchase; international commercial transactions and disputes; and corporate governance and structure.

Norton Rose Fulbright is one of the few global law firms able to provide the full range of legal services needed in the modern shipping industry. The breadth of the firm’s international experience sees it regularly advise on significant shipping-related projects across key areas of work including asset and lease financing; financial restructuring and insolvency; litigation and disputes; marine insurance; commercial transactions; and regulatory services.
