
Simon Goodall
Biography
Simon Goodall is a dispute resolution lawyer based in our London insurance litigation team.
Simon advises London market and overseas insurers and reinsurers on high-value insurance and reinsurance disputes. He has been involved in numerous international and domestic arbitration matters, including ICC, LCIA, DIAC, SCC, LMAA and UNCITRAL arbitrations, and has assisted with several matters before the English High Court.

- Leading insurer in an ad hoc arbitration concerning property damage arising from widespread civil unrest in Chile.
- Middle Eastern airport authority and its insurers on defending a litigation claim arising from a collision between two aircraft on the taxiway.
- All-risks aviation insurers in relation to numerous litigation cases in England, Ireland and the US concerning the detention by Russia of large numbers of commercial aircraft in the aftermath of its invasion of Ukraine.
- European airport authority and its insurers on defending claims arising from the theft of diamonds from the hold of an aircraft.
- South American state-owned insurance company in an ad hoc arbitration concerning sums purportedly owed under two sets of reinsurance contracts.
- Lloyd’s syndicate in an ad hoc arbitration against reinsurers, in respect of claims on its catastrophe aviation cover.
- Owners of a Greek bank in an LCIA arbitration relating to claims under a share purchase agreement for damages for fraudulent misrepresentation in relation to the functionality and fitness for purpose of a core banking system and the right to indemnification against certain liabilities arising from third party claims.
