We have two offices in Brazil: our Rio de Janeiro office, which we established in 2014, and our São Paulo office, which we established in 2010. Our Brazil-based team has extensive experience in the areas of banking and finance; bankruptcy, financial restructuring and insolvency; corporate and M&A; mining and commodities; energy, including oil and gas and renewables; projects and project finance; international dispute resolution and regulatory matters including compliance and investigations.
In Brazil, we advise on English, US and Canadian law issues. For Brazilian law issues, our team works with a number of leading law firms, with which we have well-established relations and a number of common clients. Our on-the-ground global capability helps us advise on in-bound work to Brazil and the wider Latin American region and the regulatory and disputes work resulting from such investments. We have a strong outward investment practice, acting for Brazilian and other Latin American corporates and financial institutions on M&A projects, joint ventures, regulatory matters, corporate structuring, equity and debt capital markets transactions and other activities undertaken outside Brazil, as well as for lenders, export credit agencies and multilaterals on project and other financings.
Our Rio de Janeiro office works closely with our other offices in Latin and Central America, including São Paulo and Mexico City, and has strong links to our teams in Houston, New York, Washington, DC, Toronto and London.
