Biography
Serene Allen is an experienced litigation and dispute resolution lawyer based in London.
Her practice includes a broad range of international and domestic complex commercial disputes, with a particular focus on the aviation sector. She also has extensive complementary experience in large-scale commercial and financial litigation and investigations.
Serene has been involved in a wide range of litigation and arbitration proceedings, including in various divisions of the High Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court/Privy Council, and in international commercial London-seated arbitrations.
She advises and acts on all forms of commercial disputes, including aircraft lease, redelivery, termination and maintenance disputes, contractual disputes, joint venture and shareholder disputes, corporate disputes, fraud and insolvency-related matters.

- Acting for Saudi Arabian Airlines in a Commercial Court dispute concerning the leasing of 30 A320 aircraft and 20 A330 aircraft.
- Acting for a flag carrier airline in a dispute concerning the contractual interpretation of the operating lease and claimed maintenance reserve contributions.
- Acting in an ICC arbitration on a contractual dispute between a supplier and owner of aircraft involving alleged breaches of contractual obligations and the exercise of liens.
- Advising a flag carrier airline in respect of information and notification obligations under leases.
- Acting in relation to repossession and redelivery of aircraft across multiple jurisdictions.
- Advising a major airline in respect of delays in the delivery of aircraft, involving contractual interpretation as to obligations and remedies.
- Extensive prior litigation and arbitration experience across other sectors and areas including commercial fraud disputes, financial disputes, insolvency disputes, corporate and shareholder disputes and investigations, often for large and multi-national corporates, including financial institutions and major banks and international logistics companies. Recent experience includes various interlocutory applications such as freezing injunctions, security for costs applications and jurisdiction challenges in a high-value (c. US$ 14 bn) multi-party Commercial Court dispute of Magomedov and others v TPG and others [2025] EWHC 59 (Comm) and related proceedings appealed to the Privy Council [2024] UKPC 16.
