Ottawa advises IWG on the opening of various co-working spaces

Our Ottawa office is advising IWG, the owner of Spaces, a creative workspace company, on the opening of various co-working spaces in a major Canadian expansion.  

Global flexible workspace provider IWG, will add 375,000 square feet of new Regus and Spaces co-working locations to its Canadian footprint in 2019.

Spaces, which was launched in Amsterdam, currently has two locations in Toronto and one each in Montreal and Vancouver. Spaces is expected to open a minimum of nine new locations this year in Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, Victoria and Kelowna, B.C. The company will bring its largest North American locations to Vancouver and Toronto by 2022. The work conducted for Spaces is significant as co-working space have increased in popularity in recent years as more workers look to flexible working options and to working remote

Following the company’s most recent announcement, we are advising Spaces in the opening of nine new Spaces locations Nationwide.

  • In Toronto, Spaces Gladstone at The Carnaby mixed-use property at 11 Peel Ave, Spaces St. Clair at 2 St. Claire Ave W., Spaces North York at 5200 Yonge St., Spaces Liberty Village at 80 Atlantic Ave. and Spaces The Well at 460 Front St. WW., totalling approximately 240,000 square feet in working space.
  • In British Columbia we advised on the opening of Spaces Granville at 939 Granville St., Spaces Mount Pleasant at 565 Great Northern Way, and Spaces Kelowna at 460 Doyle Ave for  a combined total of 140,000 spare feet in working space.
  • In Montreal, Spaces Cite Multimedia at 75 Queen St. will offer 35,000 square feet of space.

IWG is the world’s largest workspace provider. It also owns the Regus co-working space brand, which has more than 3,000 locations in approximately 900 cities and 120 countries.
