We act for Royal Bank of Canada in connection with its €32bn global covered bond programme and the issuance in 2016 of over C$8bn (equivalent) covered bonds in various jurisdictions and currencies (EUR, GBP, USD and CAD) under the programme. The programme was the first of its kind in Canada and Royal Bank of Canada was recognized as 2016 Global Issuer of the Year (Global Capital). In Canada, we advised the Royal Bank of Canada on its US$1.5bn offering of 1.5% Senior Notes due 2019, its US$300m offering of Floating Rate Senior Notes due 2019, and on its C$2bn offering of 1.4% Covered Bonds, series CB32 due 2019.

Similarly, Norton Rose Fulbright is acting as arrangers' counsel for the Toronto-Dominion Bank’s C$40bn Global Legislative Covered Bond Programme and its Structured Covered Bond Programme and its issuance in 2016 of over C$9bn (equivalent) covered bonds in various jurisdictions and currencies (EUR, GBP, USD and CAD) under the programme.
