Webinar

Global | July 8, 2016

There are significant questions to be considered now that the United Kingdom has voted to leave the European Union.

The process is likely to take two years or more but there may be major consequences for many businesses and planning should start immediately to identify the risks and opportunities that the UK’s exit from the EU may bring.

To assist you and your business with the initial response to Brexit, our Risk Advisory Group will be hosting a live webinar this Friday, July 8, 2016 at 10:30 am EST.

Attendance is via webinar only, with log in details provided upon registration.

Our speakers:

  • Derek Burney, Senior Strategic Advisor, Norton Rose Fulbright
From 1989-1993, Mr. Burney served as Canada’s Ambassador to the United States. Before joining our Ottawa office, he was directly involved in concluding  negotiations of the Canada-US Free Trade agreement and NAFTA.
  • Martin Coleman, Head of Antitrust and Competition; Global Co-head of Regulation and Investigations, Norton Rose Fulbright
Mr. Coleman is  based in both our  London and Brussels offices and heads our London Brexit group. He has led many cases before the European Commission and UK competition authorities and has advised major businesses, public authorities and national governments on competition law issues.

This session will highlight the pressing market and legal issues that stem from the referendum result including:

  • Taking a calm and measured approach given uncertainty of what’s to come
  • Political and economic considerations
  • What you should do if you are considering investing in Britain

We hope you can join us and participate in a live Q&A.
