Biography

With a bachelor's degree in accounting and finance, Éric Stevens has over the past 30 years concentrated his
practice on local and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, corporate law and private financings. In 2008, Eric
was a recipient of Lexpert's "Top 40 Lawyers and Corporate Counsel Under 40" in Canada award and has since
received several other awards. He has been involved for many years in various charitable causes close to his
heart as a member of various corporate boards.

Eric has acted recently for the following clients:

  • Representing Les Serres Royales (Royal Greenhouses) in its sale to Cultures Gen V, a leading greenhouse
    production company of tomatoes in Quebec. This transaction now positions Culture Gen V to become one of
    the largest diversified greenhouse producers in Quebec by adding 9 hectares of tomatoes to its current
    cultivated area, totalling 36 hectare
  • SNC-Lavalin in the sale of AltaLink to Berkshire Hathaway Energy
  • Entertainment Benefits Group (EBG), based in Miami, New York and Las Vegas, in connection with an
    investment by Creative Artists Agency in EBG, one of the largest private providers of travel and entertainment
    in the United States and many cross-border deals in the USA since such transaction
  • Solotech Group Inc., in connection with its acquisition of Pro Sound, Inc., a highly regarded audio, video,
    lighting and broadcasting integration company, headquartered in Miami, Florida, with offices and warehouses
    in Orlando, Pensacola and Los Angeles. This acquisition significantly increases Solotech's systems integration
    and live productions presence in the US market
  • RONA Inc. for its acquisitions in Canada, including TruServ Canada Inc., Piercey's, Best-Mar Plumbing and Heating Supplies Inc., Noble Trade Inc., Groupe Lespérance Inc., Curtis Lumber Co. Ltd., Chester Dawe Limited, Groupe Coupal Inc., Mountain Building Supplies Limited, Totem Building Supplies Inc., Groupe Marcil Inc., Réno-Dépôt Inc. and Revy Home Centres Inc.
  • Guy Laliberté, in connection with the sale of Cirque du Soleil to TPG, FOSUN and CDPQ
  • Groupe Lune Rouge Inc., in connection with the sale of Reflector Entertainment Ltd. to a Japanese buyer
  • M'Plast Inc., in connection with the sale to Licaplast Industries-Emballages Inc.
  • SPI Health and Safety, a Canadian leader in goods and services related to occupational health and safety, in connection with its acquisition of CONFIAN
  • NeuroRx Research Inc. and its group companies (NeuroRx) in a complex transaction in which NeuroRx was acquired by Clario, a transaction that will enable NeuroRx to expand its reach, increase innovation and broaden its impact on drug development
