Biography

Nader Hasan is an associate on our corporate, M&A and securities team and a member of our Canadian special situations team. 

His special situations experience includes advising issuers and shareholders in connection with shareholder disputes and activism, including proxy contests. His mergers and acquisitions experience includes acting for companies in friendly and hostile M&A transactions, including statutory plans of arrangement, takeover bids and amalgamations. His securities experience includes acting for companies and investment banks in reverse take-over transactions as well as public offerings, including initial public offerings, and private placements.

Mr. Hasan advises clients in a variety of industries, including cannabis, mining, technology and gaming (including e-sports). He is co-editor of both our Special Situations Law blog and Inside Sports Law blog as well as a frequent publisher of our cannabis legal updates.

Mr. Hasan joined our Toronto office as a summer student in 2014 and an articling student in 2015 and 2016. During his articles, he completed a secondment in the Royal Bank of Canada's legal department, where he gained valuable experience working with its corporate services and securities group. Prior to joining us, Mr. Hasan worked for a large financial advisory firm.
