Norton Rose Fulbright advises Kommunalkredit Austria on financing to Bluefield Partners for renewables acquisitions in Italy

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has advised Kommunalkredit Austria AG (Kommunalkredit) on a financing to Bluefield Partners LLP, through its subsidiary Bluefield Solar Endeavor Italia S.r.l.. The funds will be used to purchase two special purpose vehicles from Canadian Solar. Canadian Solar hold a portfolio of 10 greenfield solar photovoltaic plants under development in Sicily.

Kommunalkredit is a specialist bank for infrastructure financing, acting between project developers and investors. Bluefield Partners LLP is a London-based investment specialist focused on the renewable energy industry and in particular on the solar photovoltaic market.

The Norton Rose Fulbright team advising on this transaction was co-led by partner Arturo Sferruzza, who is the head of the banking and finance and energy practices in Italy, and counsel Elisabetta Negrini. Further support was provided by associate Federica Desiderato.
