Sonya is a dispute resolution lawyer based in London, focused on financial services regulatory investigations and enforcement proceedings brought by regulators including the FCA, PRA, Ofgem and a number of overseas regulators. She has undertaken a broad range of commercial and banking litigation, together with internal investigations.

Sonya's experience includes representing financial institutions, fund managers and individuals including in relation to alleged market abuse, Libor manipulation and senior manager responsibility for systems and controls failings. She has undertaken secondments to the FCA's Enforcement Division and the litigation team at a major investment bank.

Sonya is a co-contributor to the Financial Services Decisions Digest, published by Lexis Nexis (which provided the first authoritative review of FCA final notices and Upper Tribunal decisions), and writes articles for the Regulation Tomorrow blog and industry publications such as Complinet, FS Focus and Thomson Reuters.

Sonya was named a rising star in The Legal 500, 2020 where it was noted that "Her attention to detail and legal acumen are superb".
