Linda Addison honored for work to increase women on corporate boards

Immediate Past US Managing Partner Linda L. Addison (Houston and New York), was honored by DirectWomen at its annual Sandra Day O'Connor Board Excellence Award Luncheon in New York on October 4. 

US Head of Employment and Labor Shauna Clark (Houston) introduced Addison, who received this year's Distinguished Alumna Award. View the introduction and Addison's award presentation and remarks.

DirectWomen, a non-profit that works to increase the number of women on corporate boards, named Addison the 2019 Distinguished Alumna of its Board Institute. Given to a sole recipient annually, the award honors a DirectWomen Board Institute alumna who exemplifies the talents and accomplishments of the organization's alumnae and has joined at least one large corporate board since completing the Board Institute.

Addison serves on the Board of Directors and Compensation Committee of Globe Life, an S&P 500 company. She also serves as an independent board member of KPMG, the US audit, tax, and advisory firm. She previously served on the advisory board of Northern Trust Bank.

DirectWomen annually identifies for its Board Institute a select group of leading US female lawyers who are board ready and have the business skills and experience for corporate board service. It also serves as a resource for corporations seeking qualified female board members.
