Our Women in Maritime network hosted this virtual workshop, 50 Ways to Fight Bias* developed by Lean In. This workshop aims to provide insight on how bias works and provides practical tools on how to challenge bias in the work place.
Almost three in four women experience bias at work, and those who do are more likely to leave their jobs. Research also shows that gender bias contributes to women being passed over for jobs and promotions. Whether deliberate or unconscious, bias negatively impacts women´s day-to-day work experiences.
Knowing that gender bias exists isn’t enough. We need to take action.
The discussion was supported by resources developed by Lean In which you can access at your leisure.
*50 Ways to Fight Bias has been developed by Lean In in collaboration with experts and partner organizations including Stanford VMware Women’s Leadership Innovation Lab, Executive Leadership Council, Minda Harts, National Urban League, Paradigm, UnidosUS, and many more.
