Michael Doyle is a commercial lawyer in the government team based in our Canberra office. Michael has advised and assisted with complex procurements, contracts and projects and takes a pragmatic approach to dealing with commercial and legal issues in procurement.
Michael has a holistic view of the government procurement lifecycle, and has advised on many aspects of complex contracts and major projects. He has assisted government in all aspects of commercial contracting and procurement including procurement strategy and methodology, navigating government policy, contract design, acquisition, project delivery models and market-testing activities, performance based contracting, interpreting, managing and enforcing contracts, and dispute resolution and commercial settlement arrangements. Michael has a client-centric and pragmatic approach to his role, and is motivated by assisting his clients to achieve business and commercial outcomes efficiently, while managing risk and ensuring effective risk mitigation strategies are employed.
He also has a practical understanding of the regulatory frameworks within which the Commonwealth government operates. Michael is regularly involved in preparation, review and analysis of a broad range of documentation for Commonwealth government clients, including briefing material, policy guidance and general advices in relation to disputes and regulatory issues.
