St. Louis lawyer to chair behavioral health task force

Purvi B. Maniar (St. Louis) has been selected to chair the Behavioral Health Task Force of the American Health Lawyers Association (AHLA).

The Behavioral Health Task Force’s mission is to advance the understanding of laws affecting behavioral health, including laws related to the delivery of services to those living with mental illness, certain neurological conditions, substance use disorders or developmental disabilities, and reimbursement for such services. The AHLA is the largest, nonpartisan, non-profit  organization devoted to providing information about legal issues related to the health care field in the US.

Maniar previously co-authored a Multi-state behavioral healthcare strategies, which explores the value creation of multi-state behavioral healthcare and the challenges the industry faces, and is a regular speaker on topics relating to private equity transactions in the behavioral health sector.

Her appointment will run for two years, from July 2019 through June 2021.

Maniar provides transactional legal guidance and strategic advice to a wide range of clients in the health care and technology industries, with a subspecialty in behavioral health. Her clients include various health care organizations, including healthcare and behavioral health providers as well as investors in those areas.
