Houston lawyer wins Houston Business Journal’s Women Who Mean Business Award

The Houston Business Journal recently named Debbi M. Johnstone (Houston) a winner of a 2019 Women Who Mean Business Award. Johnstone, Norton Rose Fulbright's US Head of Life Sciences and Healthcare, was one of eight winners in the Outstanding Leaders in Law category.

Honorees were chosen based on career achievement, contribution to company, community involvement and leadership.

Johnstone focuses her practice exclusively on the health care industry, working on transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate compliance, hospital-physician contracting, and physician recruitment and employment. She also has significant experience in compliance and payment matters.

Johnstone is board certified in health law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and has been recognized by Chambers USA, The Legal 500 USA, Texas Super Lawyers and Best Lawyers.

For more than 20 years, she has served on the board of DePelchin Children's Center, a foster care and adoption agency in Houston serving vulnerable children, including those who have been abused and neglected. She chaired the board from 2010-2011.

Johnstone and the other winners will receive their awards at a banquet October 3rd at the Marriott Marquis on Houston's Discovery Green.
